Use ICS and CSV for the jobs they can actually preserve

Create one-off events, inspect bounded snapshots and recognize unrecoverable data.

Choose the right output for the next step

Use the event-component CSV to inspect stored records, including masters and exceptions. Use the occurrence CSV when you need actual dates within a limited period for a spreadsheet or reconciliation task. Use ICS when the receiving calendar needs recurrence rules, exclusions, named-zone definitions and event properties.

The preview supports daily, weekly, monthly and yearly rules within the published limits. Repeated wall times use the first occurrence and explicitly stored gap times use the pre-gap offset. Generated recurrence instances inside a forward clock gap are skipped without consuming COUNT. More complex or unsupported recurrence features remain in ICS and are listed in the audit instead of being presented as a complete snapshot. Infinite series are bounded by the chosen dates; an exhausted row or iterator limit is marked partial.

Create a small calendar from a clear CSV schema

CSV creation requires summary and start columns, with optional end, uid, description and location. Use full ISO-style seconds for timed values, a trailing Z for UTC, or a plain date for all-day events. A timed value without Z is floating. Numeric offsets and named-zone columns are refused rather than interpreted from your device settings.

This creation path makes one-off events. It does not infer a recurring rule from repeated rows or rebuild a timezone definition. If UID is absent, the result gets a new identity; it is not linked to an old invitation. The template demonstrates a quoted comma in a title and an exclusive all-day end.

Repair syntax without inventing missing history

Supported UTF-8 content lines are unfolded before decoding and serialized with CRLF and byte-aware folding. Invalid escapes, incomplete component boundaries and impossible date values are rejected with an actionable error. The tool does not recover missing events from a truncated calendar or claim that parse success proves every receiving app will behave identically.

An optional repair setting can generate absent identity or timestamp metadata only in the documented cases. Those generated values are recorded as new information, not recovered facts. Spreadsheet-dangerous text is protected with a leading apostrophe in CSV, and preview summaries are bounded while full text stays in ICS. Keep the original source as the reference for every conversion.
